The ranking of the Italian guide 50 TOP of 2022 elected the best pizzas in the world, and Brazil, although it was not among the top 50, occupied three positions in the award’s top 100. The top of the list was divided between Italy and the United States.

The best-placed Brazilian representative was A Pizza da Mooca, in 77th place. With units in the Mooca and Pinheiros neighborhoods in São Paulo City, the house was opened in 2011 and is differentiated by the use of Italian flour and the selection of ingredients from local producers and merchants.

“Very proud to be able to represent our country at this moment. Our thanks to our team, which is a fundamental part of this achievement, to our suppliers and partners, and especially to our customers, who are always honoring us,” wrote the pizzeria’s Instagram profile.

In the 83rd position, Leggera Pizza Napoletana is the second-highest among Brazilian pizzerias. Opened in 2013, the house has units in Perdizes and Jardins in São Paulo City, where it is possible to consume typically Neapolitan pizzas, certified by Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, an Italian institution that certifies the authenticity of Neapolitan pizzas in the world.

QT Pizza Bar, located in the Cerqueira César neighborhood, closes the Brazilian participation in the list, occupying the 99th position. “Our many thanks to those who are part of our family and to our customers,” wrote the house’s profile on Instagram when commenting on the award.

TOP 5

The first position of the 50 Top Pizza World 2022 was split between Francesco Martucci’s I Masanielli in Caserta, Italy, and Una Pizza Napoletana in New York. The third place went to Peppe Pizzeria in Paris. The fourth and fifth place went to the Italian 50 Kalò and Diego Vitagliano Pizzeria, respectively.

In addition to Italy, with the highest weight on the list, the award also has representatives from Europe, the United States, Asia, South America, and Africa (Egypt).
