São Paulo and Palmeiras drew 0-0 on Sunday in a tense clash during the 10th round of the Campeonato Paulista at Allianz Parque. Palmeiras fans voiced their frustration after the match, booing the team and protesting against club management.

The result solidified São Paulo’s position in the quarterfinals, as they now lead Group C with 16 points. Palmeiras, however, remains in third place in Group D with 17 points, two behind Ponte Preta and five behind São Bernardo.

This leaves Palmeiras outside the qualification zone for the knockout stage. Palmeiras will now turn its attention to Thursday’s match against Botafogo at Allianz Parque. Meanwhile, São Paulo faces Ponte Preta on Wednesday at Morumbi Stadium.

Both matches are decisive as teams approach the final stretch of the group stage. The game began with an early setback for Palmeiras. Just three minutes into the first half, Mauricio collided with Ruan and suffered a shoulder injury, forcing him to be replaced by Estêvão.

Despite this disruption, Palmeiras created early chances. Raphael Veiga’s free kick at 14 minutes hit São Paulo’s defensive wall, while Flaco López narrowly missed the target with a shot from inside the box.

Scoreless Stalemate

The first half saw both sides battling for control but failing to create significant scoring opportunities. São Paulo’s first real attempt came in the 43rd minute when Luciano fired from distance but missed Weverton’s goal by a wide margin.

The second half offered more action but no goals. São Paulo nearly broke the deadlock in the 16th minute when Lucas advanced into the box and forced a save from Weverton.

Palmeiras responded with a series of close calls, including Flaco López’s header in the 23rd minute that was denied by São Paulo goalkeeper Rafael. Despite late efforts from both teams, neither managed to capitalize on their chances.

The draw left São Paulo celebrating their advancement, while Palmeiras faced growing pressure from fans. They were disappointed by their precarious position in Group D.

With only two matches remaining in the group stage, Palmeiras must regroup quickly. They need to secure a spot in the knockout rounds.
