LIVE:
Roda de Samba @ Pedra do Sal (Saúde) – This is perhaps the most famous evening of live samba in the entire Cidade Maravilhosa. An authentic ‘roda de samba’ (samba circle) at the birthplace of samba in Rio, this is always a guaranteed evening of great music, dancing and conviviality.
This free event starts at 6PM and is sponsored by the nearby bars who encourage patrons to purchase drinks from their premises thereby supporting its continuation.

LIVE:
Ganjazz @ Ganjah Lapa (Lapa) – This Monday sees the return of the popular trio Ganjazz (Nando Rocha, Pedro Brum and Felipe Escovedo) who combine jazz with the rhythms of reggae, soul, rock and MPB. This evening they’ll be joined by special guests Hiroshi.
This evening of live music should get going at 8PM and entry is R$10.

PARTY:
I Hate Mondays @ Fosfobox (Copacabana) – This is the party for those who don’t want the weekend to end, or are already fed up with the week! I Hate Mondays at Fosfobox is the best party on a Monday, always bringing a killer line up of DJs and the latest tunes that will all but make you forget what day it is.
The line-up for tonight is JLZ, Larinha, Marginal Men, Paula Queiroz, Bia Marques, and Bruna Strait. Photographers I Hate Flash are celebrating their tenth anniversary, so expect some surprises!
Tickets are between R$20 – R$50 and the night begins at 11PM.

Winehouse (Botafogo)
Winehouse is a wine bar run by a British expat that has brought an eclectic range of wines to Rio including a mix of fabulous national wines and international favorites. There is also a great selection of nibbles and cheese boards. For those who aren’t too keen on wine, there is plenty of beer and cocktail options too. Happy hour begins at 6PM and finishes at 8PM.

Pavão Azul (Copacabana)
Pavão Azul is a lively bar in Copacabana, famous for its exceptionally cold beers and prawn pastels. It gets crowded there every night, making every day of the week seem like the weekend.

Blue Agave Copa (Copacabana)

With classic pub games like darts and pool, Ipanema’s Shenanigan’s is always a great spot to visit. Monday to Friday, Happy Hour is from 6PM to 8PM and Mondays are half-price steak nights starting at 8PM.

Nosso (Ipanema)
Located in a charming house at Maria Quitéria Street, its sophisticated drinks and dishes are undoubtedly worth a try. You will also enjoy Nosso if you are a rum lover: their rum drinks, with labels from Cuba and Jamaica, are the house specialties.
