This is the night that Rio’s electronic scene has been waiting for. DE26 — the D-Edge 26th anniversary Rio edition — brings three of the most significant names in global electronic music to a single dancefloor in the Saúde port district. Carl Craig B2B Moodymann is the headline: Craig, the Planet E founder whose techno has stretched from experimental soundscapes to jazz-inflected orchestral works over three decades; Moodymann, the soul-drenched deep house architect whose KDJ and Mahogani Music labels have defined a sound rooted in Detroit’s Black musical heritage. Together, back to back, they represent the full spectrum of what Detroit has given electronic music. KiNK — the Bulgarian live performer whose improvised hardware sets with synthesizers and drum machines are never repeated twice — brings the unpredictability that makes electronic music most alive. Ratier, D-Edge’s founder and the figure who built São Paulo’s electronic identity over 26 years, DJs alongside Leo Janeiro, Simo Not Simon and Vivi Seixas. The venue is the Centro Cultural D-Edge Rio on Av. Rodrigues Alves in Saúde — a concentrated, immersive clubber experience, not the multi-stage festival format of Thursday’s São Paulo edition. Saturday at the Blue Note is a double event. The day begins at 11 am with Feijoada Raiz on the calçadão — the Copacabana oceanfront, the signature buffet (R$89.90), and this April’s new addition: the Amigos da Cacilda, a brass band formed by alumni of Favela Brass, the project that became a reference in Rio’s street carnival. The band — saxophone, trumpet, trombone, tuba, surdo, bumbo, percussion — carries the energy of the rua in its DNA, playing pop, rock and funk das antigas on brass instruments with a carnival swagger. Saturday at the Scenarium is the double event: feijoada from noon with live samba on the ground floor, then the night programme from 7 pm when the three-storey casarão shifts into peak Saturday energy. Cover R$40–60. The crowd matches Friday for intensity but skews more local. The kitchen runs all night. Arrive before 8 pm for a table or book via Sympla. On a night when DE26 is running in Saúde, the Scenarium competes for the same district — the D-Edge Rio venue on Rodrigues Alves is in Saúde, a ten-minute walk from the Scenarium on Lavradio. The two venues represent entirely different sonic worlds within the same neighbourhood: acoustic samba versus Detroit techno, gafieira versus dancefloor, the 19th century versus the 21st.

Saturday at the Gema rivals Friday for energy. The three-room casarão on Mem de Sá fills from early evening and the main show at 8:30 pm plays to a crowd that has been building momentum through the afternoon. The Gema on a Saturday is louder and more physical than weekday editions. The samba hits harder. The dance floor stays packed. Saturday is the best night to test the Gema-to-Scenarium-to-Beco crawl — or to start at the Gema and end at DE26 in Saúde. The Lapa-to-Saúde distance is ten minutes by ride-hailing: the acoustic city feeds into the electronic city as the night progresses.

Saturday at the Beco matches Friday for hours — 6 pm to 2 am — and on a night when both the Scenarium and the Gema are packed and D-Edge Rio is running in Saúde, the Beco remains the free anchor of the Lapa triangle. The alleyway fills after 10 pm with the same spill-out energy as every Saturday: the feijoada crowd from the Scenarium, the HH crowd from the Gema, the neighbourhood regulars who have been here since 6. The 1 am set is when the Beco is at its most concentrated.
