Oil Market Rollercoaster: Trump’s Tariff Talk and OPEC+ Anticipation Shake Prices

The global oil market experienced a tumultuous day on January 30, 2025, as reported by major financial news outlets. Prices swung wildly before settling lower amid geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainties.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures hit an intraday high of $74.15 per barrel. The spike proved short-lived, with WTI ultimately closing at $72.67. Brent crude oil is trading at $76.65 per barrel.

However, an upward break could push prices towards $79.22 as the first target. The EIA provided a forward-looking perspective on oil prices. The agency forecasts prices to average $91 per barrel in Q1 2025.
