Official delegations from 160 countries will be in Brazil for a new edition of the LAAD trade show

Brazil expects the arrival of up to 160 official delegations from all continents, which will be present at LAAD Defence & Security 2023, a fair that will hold its 13th edition from April 11 to 14 in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

The event will gather the main Brazilian and international companies to exhibit their products and services for the Armed and Security Forces.

Germany, Argentina, Bahrain, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Cape Verde, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, Colombia, South Korea, Egypt, Ecuador, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, United States, Ethiopia, Philippines, Finland, France, Ghana, Guatemala, French Guiana, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, Holland, Honduras, Italy, Jordan, Nigeria, Panama, Pakistan, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States, among others, have already accredited their delegation to attend the launches of 250 exhibitors representing 400 brands.

45,000 VISITORS EXPECTED

LAAD Security & Defence 2023 will present the main innovations in the segments of aeronautical and naval engineering, personal and tactical equipment, ammunition and armament, optics and optronics, consulting, training and services, cyber defense and cybersecurity, counterterrorism, transmission, communication and positioning, emergency, rescue and salvage, access control and surveillance, criminal and forensic expertise, and vehicles.

“The record number of official international delegations reinforces the importance and representativeness of the Latin American market.”

“It will be an opportunity to update and exchange on the latest trends and technologies for the defense and security sector,” said Sergio Jardim, general director of Creative Events and organizer of the fair.

According to the commander of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), Lieutenant Brigadier Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, “FAB’s participation in LAAD 2023 represents an important resumption of meetings, debates, and exhibitions on defense and aerospace topics.

Therefore, the return of the fair is a unique opportunity to address the advancement of our ability to develop and conduct high-tech projects that contribute to the strengthening of national defense through the increase of the Defense Industrial Base.”

For the Navy commander, Fleet Admiral Marcos Sampaio Olsen, “it is important to highlight that defense and security fairs promote a unique opportunity to foster discussions and strengthen relations between the Armed Forces, establishing a healthy business environment.”

“And this would be no different with LAAD, the largest in Latin America, which contributes directly to strengthening the national defense industry and friendship among the participating countries”.
