Monday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Monday nights at Carioca da Gema have won the hearts of the public with a style of samba that makes Lapa shake, step and boogie, when Richas hits the stage.
Depicting the blocos and styles of the classic Rio samba schools, the band Zeca Pagodinho also has an incredible array of brilliant percussionists. This night is truly the definition of Rio samba, with a four hour jam session that unites the powerful impact of song, rhythmic drumming and harmony. Hosted at Carioca da Gema, one of Lapa’s finest live music venues and spectacular pizzeria, Richas has earned the praise of the public and made Monday nights anything but dull.
