Embraer will showcase its latest products at the Gadlex 2023 Gumi, South Korea event. The show runs from September 6-8.
It focuses on commercial aviation, defense, and urban air travel. The company has signed a recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
This MoU aims to boost cooperation in South Korea’s aviation sectors. It covers promotion, advice, and project opportunities.
“We are honored to join Gadlex 2023,” said Raúl Villarón, the Sales and Marketing VP.
Villarón also leads Embraer’s Commercial Aviation in the Asia-Pacific. He added, “Embraer has a strong reputation for quality products.
Over 20 years, we’ve delivered 21 different types of aircraft. We want to build strong ties with the South Korean aviation community.”
He also stated that half of the firm’s 2022 revenue came from recent innovations.
In South Korea, Embraer’s focus is the KC-390 Millennium. In October 2022, the company made several MoUs with local aerospace firms.
These include ASTG, EMK, and Kencoa Aerospace. The MoUs aim to help produce the KC-390 Millennium.
South Korea has set aside US$493 million for a new aircraft program. They plan to replace 12 older planes by 2026. Embraer’s KC-390 is in the running.
The Brazilian Air Force was the first to order the KC-390. Other orders have come from Hungary, the Netherlands, and Portugal.
Last May, Embraer signed a deal with Germany’s Aerodata AG. This was for the sale of a Praetor 600 jet.
After some changes, South Korea’s Ministry of Land will operate the jet.
The Seoul Regional Aviation Office and a local flight center will also involve the Seoul Regional Aviation Office.
