Denmark: working holiday quota for citizens of Chile and Argentina 

Denmark has officially opened its new working holiday quota for citizens from Chile and Argentina.

The new quota period started on March 1, 2023, and will last until August 31, 2023.

During this period, all interested parties will have access to the quota, and Denmark will issue up to 75 residence permits for citizens of both countries.

According to the Danish International Recruitment and Integration Agency (SIRI), residence permits for citizens from Chile and Argentina will be issued under the working holiday quota.

“For the period from March 1, 2023, to August 31, 2023, up to 75 residence permits can be issued to Chilean nationals, and up to 75 residence permits can be issued to Argentine nationals under the working holiday quota. The permits will be issued on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis,” the SIRI statement said.

Denmark currently has an annual quota of 150 working holiday residence permits for citizens from Chile and Argentina.

This quota is divided into two periods – from March to August (first quota period) and from September to February (second quota period).

Once the first quota period ends and Denmark has issued up to 75 residence permits to Chilean and Argentine citizens, the country will suspend these activities until September 1, 2023, when the next quota period begins.

During the second quota period, Denmark will also issue up to 75 residence permits to Chilean and Argentine nationals under the working leave scheme.

Once the number of residence permits issued reaches 150 for each country, the remaining applications will be rejected.

Once the number is reached and the applications are rejected, the fee will be refunded, and all interested parties can apply when the quota for the next year is opened.

To obtain a residence permit under the working holiday scheme, Chilean and Argentine applicants must prove they have Chilean or Argentine citizenship and are permanent residents of Chile or Argentina.

They must also have a valid passport issued by their country’s authorities.

In addition, applicants must be between 18 and 31 years old, have health insurance, and state that their stay in Denmark is for vacation purposes.
