Amazon.com in Brazil to start delivering same-day orders in São Paulo

Amazon.com (AMZN) announced on Thursday that it will start delivering same-day orders in some regions of the expanded São Paulo city center.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - According to the US e-commerce giant, the service is available for some items, with shipping costs starting at R$14.90 for Prime members and R$18.90 for the remainder.

The announcement illustrates how the offer of shorter delivery times has been one of the biggest bets among the largest e-commerce companies in the country, since the closing of physical stores due to social isolation measures has pushed consumers to digital sales channels.
