Lula affirms that Brazil will achieve the goal of ending deforestation by 2030

The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, affirmed yesterday that the country will meet the goal of reducing deforestation in the Amazon to zero by 2030. However, he acknowledged that it would not be easy.

At an event commemorating his first 100 days in office, Lula affirmed that "we will comply with the agreements signed and reduce deforestation in the Amazon rainforest to zero by 2030".
