Uruguay’s leftists hyperventilate as international investors win bid for Montevideo port

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The leftist alliance Frente Amplio this Wednesday expanded its accusation against the center-right government led by Luis Lacalle Pou for handing over the port of Montevideo to the multinational Katoen Natie, granting it the monopoly of the container terminal for 50 years.

The Frente Amplio bench accuses the government of "serious crimes against public property and handing over the Port of Montevideo to the Belgian multinational group Katoen Natie (KNG) by 2081."
