Sales from Colombia to the rest of the world grow 42.7% until November

Colombian exports are having a good 2022. Cut to November they increased by 42.7% and reached US$52.578 billion, while a year ago they were US$36.845 billion.

In fact, according to the information provided by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane), exports during November alone had a growth of 8.8% compared to the same month last year.

Likewise, the national statistical authority explained that the result for the eleventh month was mainly due to the 21.1% growth in external sales of the fuel group.

The entity explained that the group of fuels and products of the extractive industries participated with 56.9% of the total FOB value of exports; likewise, Manufacturing with 18.4%, agriculture, food and beverages 19.2%, and other sectors with 5.5%.

In November 2022, 14,949.8 million barrels of crude oil were exported, which represented a growth of 5.8% compared to November 2021.

For its part, in November 2019 Colombian exports amounted to US$2.943 billion FOB. When comparing the eleventh month of 2022 with the same month of 2019, an increase of 53.5% is recorded; This result is mainly due to the 65.5% increase in external sales of the fuel group.

Likewise, in the period January – November 2022, an increase in Colombian external sales of 45.4% is registered, when compared to the same period in 2019.

Exports of fuels and products from the extractive industries registered an increase of 46.3%. For their part, manufacturing increased 27.1%, foreign sales of agricultural products, food and beverages increased 57.7% and other sectors increased 69.1%.

It should also be noted that in November 2022 the exports of the manufacturing group were US$831.4 million FOB and presented a variation of 31.4% compared to November 2019.

This behavior was mainly explained by the increase in foreign sales of manufactured articles, classified mainly according to material (53.3%) and chemical and related products (28.2%), which together contributed 24.2 percentage points. to the variation of the grouping.

External sales of agricultural products, food and beverages were US$867.5 million FOB in November 2022 and presented an increase of 47.8%, compared to November 2019.

This behavior was mainly explained by the increase in decaffeinated or non-decaffeinated unroasted coffee exports; coffee shell and husk (49.7%), which contributed 16.1 percentage points to the group variation.

In the month of November 2022 compared to November 2019, the growth in exports of the Other sectors group (46.5%) was mainly explained by the increase in sales of non-monetary gold that added 52.1 percentage points to the group variation.
