INE's tourism statistics and guest movements revealed that Cape Verdean hotels registered a 688.5 percent increase in tourists in the second quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2021.
For the whole of 2021, according to the data published by INE, the Cape Verdean hotel industry counted 169,068 guests, compared to 207,125 in 2020, in both cases - still under the effects of Covid-19 - far from the record of more than 819,000 tourists in 2019.
