Colombia plans to build a second frigate and another logistics ship in the next four years

The Colombian government plans to finance the construction of the second frigate of the Surface Strategic Platform (PES) program and a second logistics support ship (BAL 6012) over the next four years, coinciding with the presidential term of the current president, Gustavo Petro.

The Colombian intentions derive from the efforts of the National Navy (ARC) aimed at the development of the PES project, which contemplates the construction of five frigates until 2032, as well as having two BAL 6012 type vessels, with which it would simultaneously cover the Atlantic and Pacific coasts.
