Russia welcomes Brazil’s upcoming accession to UN Security Council

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL- Russia today (30) reiterated its strategic partnership with Brazil and welcomed Brazil's upcoming entry, in January 2022, to the UN Security Council, as a non-permanent member, which will allow for increased cooperation between the two nations.

"New possibilities are opening up thanks to the fact that, as of January 1, Brazil will be a member of the UN Security Council, which will add new directions of work to our close partnership," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said when receiving his Brazilian counterpart, Carlos França, in Moscow.
