Brazil’s Itapemirim reaches agreement with PROCON to refund passengers

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Itapemirim has reached an agreement with the São Paulo Consumer Protection Organization (PROCON) to refund passengers affected by the suspension of the airline's activities. The estimate is that approximately 45,000 people were affected by the company.

In addition to refunding for the cancelled flights, the airline will bear the costs of passengers' trips back to their city of residence.

The company could be fined R$5 million (US$888 million) if it fails to comply with the agreement.
