Bolivian region of Santa Cruz declares “red alert” for dengue fever

Meanwhile, the Minister of Health and Sports, Jeyson Auza, also informed today that this year up to January 18, 508 cases of dengue had been reported in the departments of Santa Cruz, Beni, north of La Paz, Tarija, Pando, and Cochabamba.

Dengue is transmitted through the bite of an infected “Aedes Aegypti” mosquito.

Its most common symptoms include fever, nausea, vomiting, rash, discomfort, and pain behind the eyes, muscle, joint, and bone pain.
