BNegão, Players Festival at Club 00: Daily

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Club 00 (Zero Zero) has been the place to be on Tuesdays this month, this week is no different and the last chance to attend this edition of Players Festival – a celebration of underground culture bringing together art and music in Gávea.

The last three installations of the party have been a great success, including live painting performance by Airá Ocrespo and Anarkia Boladona.  This week’s party will bring out popular MC BNegão for a closing party that is likely to run late for a school night.

BNegão, the former member of the ultra-popular Planet Hemp, is excited to participate in the Players Festival. “This festival is important because it encompasses a lot of street culture produced in Brazil.  And the street culture is essentially underground,” said the MC.

Tonight’s performance is the artist’s last before heading to London where he will perform at the Olympic Flag Handover during the London 2012 Closing Ceremony.  

There, BNegão will join other popular Brazilian artists, including Marisa Monte and Seu Jorge, when Rio Mayo Eduardo Paes accepts the Olympic flag, marking a symbolic transfer from the 2012 London Games to the 2016 Games in Rio.

Not only will tonight be wishing BNegão a safe journey to England, but more importantly because he is certain to give a great performance.  

“Tonight I’ll play without my band, Os Seletores de Frequencia, just me and the DJs of the Players Festival. There may be a few songs off the new album, ‘Sintoniza Lá’, but people will just have to come out to see what happens.”
