Bitcoin Climbs Past $120,000 as Altcoin Rally Signals Broad Crypto Optimism
Drawing on hard market data from July 18, 2025, daily and 4-hour chart analysis for Bitcoin, and verified official figures, the crypto market demonstrated robust momentum over the last 24 hours.
Bitcoin held strongly above $120,000, closing at $120,680 with a one-day gain of 1.2 percent. Leading altcoins, including Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and Litecoin, outperformed with even larger percentage moves as risk appetite in crypto markets increased.
Markets witnessed high liquidity, with Bitcoin’s trading volume above $1.2 billion and Ethereum’s at $1.46 billion. ETF flows continued to support price levels, as Bitcoin ETF net inflows topped $1.2 billion for the first week of July.
Ethereum spot ETFs drew record daily inflows, with $726 million reported on July 17. This steady capital inflow improved price stability and created a positive feedback loop for both Bitcoin and major altcoins.
Technical charts show a market trending decisively higher. On the daily timeframe, Bitcoin traded well above its key moving averages with the 50, 100, and 200-day lines acting as support.

Bollinger Bands expanded, suggesting recent volatility increased but so did upward momentum. The daily Relative Strength Index averaged near 67, indicating gradually building momentum without entering severe overbought territory.
Meanwhile, the 4-hour chart RSI remained strong and above 56. MACD measurements on both daily and 4-hour ranges displayed bullish alignment. The short-term 4-hour chart saw some minor cooling in momentum but no sharp reversal.
Traders saw tightening Bollinger Bands followed by a visible upward breakout, and volumes surged during the move. These technical patterns confirmed capital rotated from Bitcoin, with its relatively stable price, into altcoins seeking higher returns as their fundamentals improved.
Altcoin gains were remarkable. XRP jumped over 15 percent in 24 hours, crossing $3.60 as investors increased allocations amid speculation about ecosystem expansion.
Litecoin jumped 11 percent, one of its strongest sessions this quarter, buoyed by broader altcoin strength. Ethereum surged almost 9 percent, bolstered by rapid ETF and institutional demand.
Solana advanced 7 percent as it maintained an ascending structure on technical charts. Market structure remained healthy as strong inflows from institutional investors through ETFs and healthy spot market volumes supported uptrends in both major and mid-cap tokens.
Support and resistance levels held, with Bitcoin holding above $116,000, Ethereum defending above $3,400, and Solana consolidating above $167.
The technicals signal further possible upside but recommend close attention to volume, price, and ETF flow shifts for market timing. Fundamentally, improved sentiment reflected persistent institutional interest and renewed risk appetite.
Macroeconomic factors, including stable rates and inflation data, underpinned investor willingness to seek returns in digital assets. The last 24 hours confirmed capital flowed into crypto across the board, pushing prices and trading volumes to new summer highs.
