The goal is to boost growth in the premium portfolio, which doubled last year’s sales volume by two digits, principally in “pure malt” beers having barley as their only grain ingredient, such as its Bohemia brand, whose sales last year grew by three digits.

In addition, Ambev launched Skol Puro Malt in 2019, the largest launch in the company’s history. With the new investments, Ambev is also trying to forestall encroachment on its market share by its main competitors – in 2019 Brazil became the largest market in volume for the Heineken brand in the world.
