U.S. certifies Minerva to export beef from its São Paulo facility
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Minerva Foods (BEEF3) was certified by the United States to export fresh beef from its unit in José Bonifácio (São Paulo), the company said Friday.
“The new achievement creates another excellent opportunity for the company in the North American market, a major importer and one to which we currently export other products,” said Minerva’s quality manager Márcia Lopes.

According to the company, the Araguaína (TO), Janaúba (MG), Paranatinga (MT) and Palmeiras de Goiás (GO) plants are now authorized to ship fresh meat to the United States. The Barretos (SP) unit can ship canned meat, as well as the Minerva Fine Foods business division, with cooked and frozen products.
Data from the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (ABIEC) indicate that the U.S. is the third largest buyer of Brazilian beef, behind China and Hong Kong.
