Three Nations Condemn North Korea’s Arms Shipments to Russia

South Korea, Japan, and the United States recently condemned North Korea for reportedly sending military equipment to Russia.

A public statement by these three nations detailed several such cases. The nations believe these shipments will make Russia’s conflict with Ukraine worse.

In the statement, they commit to supporting Ukraine’s freedom and efforts to lessen war damage.

Additionally, the countries highlighted North Korea’s motives. They think North Korea aims to improve its own military.

North Korea likely expects help from Russia in return. The three nations are closely monitoring any support Russia gives North Korea for military aims.

Furthermore, the joint statement pointed out United Nations Security Council rules. Transfers of arms to or from North Korea violate these rules.

It’s important to note that Russia had previously agreed to these restrictions by voting for them.
