Mexican Army to carry out joint exercises with France’s Jeanne d’Arc mission

The Mexican Army will conduct joint exercises with a French ground unit as part of the visit of the Jeanne D’Arc 2023 mission to Mexico.

On board the amphibious helicopter carrier (PHA) Dixmunde is the French Army’s Embarked Tactical Grouping (GTE).

This is the first time that the armies of Mexico and France will conduct joint training.

The Jeanne D’Arc 2023 mission is an opportunity for the deployed units and detachments to conduct inter-army and inter-allied exercises and, if necessary, specific military operations.

During its deployment, the Jeanne d’Arc grouping cooperates with partner countries, contributing to densifying and strengthening the capabilities of the national Navy and Army to intervene together anywhere on the planet.

120 soldiers from the French Army’s GTE will work alongside the Marines to carry out the amphibious maneuvers that will mark the Jeanne D’Arc 2023 mission.

The GTE is carrying 40 vehicles aboard the PHA Dixmude, including light armored vehicles (VBL), small protected vehicles (PVP), frontal armored vehicles (VAB), GBC cargo and personnel carriers, and various engineering machines (Egame, Egrap, D6) and other vehicles.
