Colombian singer Kapo brings his Afro Rosa tour to the Dominican capital on a Saturday night in mid-November, one of the main international dates on Santo Domingo’s autumn concert calendar.

Kapo Santo Domingo 2026 is set: the Colombian urban and afrobeats singer Kapo will perform on Saturday 14 November at the Óvalo de la Feria Ganadera, an open-air concert ground in the Dominican capital. The date is part of his Afro Rosa tour, and tickets are on sale through Uepa Tickets, according to the local producer, Pav Events.

For a US visitor the show is an easy weekend trip. Santo Domingo is a short nonstop flight from Miami and New York, US citizens need no visa for a stay of up to 30 days, and mid-November falls after the busiest weeks of the hurricane season and before the Christmas peak in airfares.

The official listing on Uepa Tickets gives an 8 p.m. start and prices from RD$2,900 (about US$47) to RD$13,000 (about US$210) before service charges, so this guide sets out what is confirmed and what is still open.

Who Kapo Is and Why This Show Matters

Kapo is the stage name of Juan David Loaiza Sepúlveda, a Colombian singer who is 28, according to the organiser, and who records for the label La Industria Inc. His music mixes Colombian urbano with afrobeats. His album “Por Si Alguien Nos Escucha” reached the Spotify global top 10 for albums, according to the organiser’s announcement, and produced “OHNANA” and “Uwaie”, along with viral tracks such as “No Cry” and “Dónde”.

He has recorded with Feid, Maluma, Ryan Castro, Manuel Turizo, Yandel, Myke Towers and Rels B. His recent songs with Ryan Castro, “Flaka” and “La Vila”, charted in more than 18 countries, the organiser says. At home he played two sold-out solo shows at the Movistar Arena in Bogotá, with more than 14,000 people across the two nights.

The Afro Rosa tour has been on the road through Latin America in 2026. After Santo Domingo it moves on to San Salvador on 26 November and then to Quito, where Kapo plays his first show in Ecuador at the Coliseo General Rumiñahui on 28 November, according to the Colombian business daily La República and the Ecuadorian magazine Vistazo.

For fans in the United States, a Caribbean weekend is one of the simpler ways to catch the show before the year ends. Our earlier guide, Colombian Afrobeats Singer Kapo Plays Buenos Aires on 17 September, covers the Argentine leg of the same tour.

The Venue and How to Get There

The Óvalo de la Feria Ganadera is the oval show ground of the city’s livestock fairground, and it has become one of Santo Domingo’s main stages for large concerts. In May 2026 it hosted Laura Pausini’s Yo Canto World Tour, a show that sold out through its ticket seller, according to the Dominican outlet Acento.

It is an open-air site, so a light rain jacket is more useful than an umbrella; umbrellas with metal tips were on the banned list at the Pausini show.

Most international visitors fly into Las Américas International Airport (SDQ), east of the city. From the airport, use an authorised airport taxi or a ride-hailing app rather than accepting rides from people approaching you in the arrivals hall.

Within the city, ride-hailing is the usual way to reach concerts and to get back to your hotel afterwards. Expect heavy traffic and surge pricing when tens of thousands of people leave a show at the same time, and agree a pick-up point with your group before the concert starts.

Many visitors stay in the Zona Colonial, the old city with its cobbled streets and restaurants, or along the Malecón seafront, where the large hotels are. Both are a drive rather than a walk from the fairground, so build in time to arrive before the gates open.

Tips for US and Foreign Visitors

Entry rules. The US State Department’s page on the Dominican Republic, last updated on 11 August 2025 and checked for this guide on 12 October 2026, says US citizens need a passport valid for six months from arrival, do not need a visa for visits of up to 30 days, and must complete an eTicket for each entry and exit. A US$10 tourist card fee is included in airline charges.

The eTicket is free on the official government portal; ignore paid look-alike sites.

Safety. The State Department rates the Dominican Republic at Level 2, “exercise increased caution”, a rating it set on 12 June 2025. At concerts, the practical risks are pickpocketing and phone theft in crowds.

Carry one card and a small amount of cash, keep your phone in a front pocket, and leave your passport in the hotel safe with a photo copy on your phone.

Money. US dollars are widely understood in tourist areas, but the Dominican peso is the local currency and gives better value at shops and food stalls. Cards work at most hotels and restaurants.

Ask your bank about foreign transaction fees before travelling.

Ticket prices. The Uepa listing, checked on 12 October 2026, shows seven zones. Palcos cost RD$2,900 (about US$47) and Standing VIP RD$3,900 (about US$63).

Seated Special Guest tickets cost RD$5,500 (about US$89) for rows G to P, RD$6,500 (about US$105) for rows D to F and RD$7,500 (about US$121) for rows A to C. Front Stage seats cost RD$9,500 (about US$154) for rows G to K and RD$13,000 (about US$210) for rows D to F. The seller says these prices do not include service charges. Dollar figures use the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic reference selling rate of RD$61.82 per US dollar on 9 October 2026.

Tickets. Buy only through the seller named by the organiser, Uepa Tickets, or its authorised outlets. Resale offers on social media are a common source of fake or duplicated tickets for big shows in the region.

Keep the purchase email and the ticket QR code available offline in case mobile data is slow at the gates.

Weather. Mid-November evenings in Santo Domingo are usually warm and humid. The Atlantic hurricane season officially runs until 30 November, so check the forecast in the days before you fly and consider travel insurance that covers weather delays.

Also on in Santo Domingo This Autumn

Kapo is one of several international names playing the Dominican Republic in the last months of 2026, according to a round-up by the Dominican outlet N Digital. Keinemusik members &ME, Rampa, Adam Port and Reznik play Playa Montesinos on 31 October; the Colombian singer Humbe has shows on 4 and 5 November; and Natalia Jiménez performs at the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito on 29 November at 8 p.m.

The biggest event of the season is the return of Festival Presidente on 11 and 12 December at the Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez, with Juan Luis Guerra, Calvin Harris, Katy Perry and Don Omar among the headliners. For other plans in the city, see What to Do in Santo Domingo in October 2026: Wagner and ComiCon.

What Is Not Confirmed Yet

The Uepa listing gives the show time as 8 p.m. but not the time the gates open, and it does not state the size of the service charge added to each ticket. No opening act has been announced.

The organiser has also not said whether there are age limits or a bag policy. We will not guess at any of these; check the Uepa listing and the organiser’s channels before you book flights.
