Iran’s Supreme Leader Threatens U.S. with “Irreparable Damage” Amid Demands for Surrender

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has warned the United States that any military intervention in the current Iran-Israel conflict would cause “irreparable damage” to America.

He made this statement on June 18, 2025, after U.S. President Donald Trump publicly demanded Iran’s “unconditional surrender” and hinted at possible U.S. military involvement if Iran does not comply.

This crisis started on June 13, 2025, when Israel launched major airstrikes against Iran. Israel said its goal was to stop Iran’s nuclear program, which it considers an existential threat.

Israeli forces targeted nuclear sites, military bases, and neighborhoods where senior Iranian commanders live.

Iran responded by firing more than 400 missiles and sending hundreds of drones at Israeli targets, hitting both military and civilian areas.

According to official sources, at least 224 people in Iran and 24 people in Israel have died so far, with many more wounded on both sides.

President Trump’s demand for Iran’s surrender and his warning that the U.S. “knows where the Supreme Leader is hiding” have raised fears that the U.S. could soon join the fighting.

The U.S. has already sent more aircraft and warships to the region. Trump’s administration has not yet committed to direct military action, but officials say all options remain on the table.

Khamenei has rejected the idea of surrender, calling Trump’s threats “vulgar” and saying that Iranians do not respond to threats.

He stressed that Iran will not accept either a forced war or a forced peace. Iranian officials have also warned that if the U.S. joins the conflict, Iran could retaliate against American forces and interests in the region.

The fighting has already caused serious damage. Israeli strikes have hit key Iranian nuclear and military facilities, while Iran’s missile and drone attacks have forced thousands of Israelis to leave their homes.

Both sides have targeted not only military sites but also areas where civilians live, raising the risk of more casualties. This conflict matters for several reasons.
