Hapvida Partners with Riza for Hospitals as Equatorial and Vivo Ramp Up Investments

In a significant expansion of healthcare infrastructure, Hapvida has partnered with asset management firm Riza. They are going to construct two hospitals in Brazil’s major cities, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

Meanwhile, Equatorial and Vivo, other major Brazilian firms, are actively bolstering their market positions through capital increases and acquisitions.

Hapvida, Riza to Build Two Hospitals

Hapvida (HAPV3) announced on Monday a new agreement with Riza, an asset management firm.

They will finance the construction of two hospitals, one in São Paulo and another in Rio de Janeiro.

A “build to suit” arrangement will develop these facilities, customizing them to meet the tenant’s specific requirements.

The company announced that the transaction could reach a total of R$600 million ($108.1M).

This includes an initial R$300 million ($54.1M) for the purchase of the land and an additional up to R$300 million ($54.1M) for the complete development of the buildings.

The company has set the lease term for 20 years, with an option to renew for another 20 years.

Finalization of the transaction is subject to the fulfillment of certain prerequisites, including approval by Riza’s investment committee.

Equatorial (EQTL3) Ratifies Capital Increase of R$516.2 Million ($93M)

Equatorial’s Board has approved a capital increase up to R$516.2 million ($93M) through issuing up to 17.5 million new shares.

The company will price each share at R$29.50, equivalent to approximately $5.32.

The company initially announced this capital enhancement in April of this year and confirmed that all shares had been subscribed and paid up to the maximum allowed.

Vivo (VIVT3) Acquires IPNet, to Boost Cloud Services

Vivo (VIVT3), through its cloud services subsidiary TCloud, has acquired software reseller IPNet for R$230 million ($41.4M), as per a recent market filing made on Monday (22).

IPNet is also a partner of Google Cloud, specializing in real-time data analytics and managed services aimed at cost reduction.
