Guinea’s president calls for joint efforts in new government to boost country’s development
President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau has called on the new government of the coalition Platform of the Inclusive Alliance (PAI) – Terra Ranka, which emerged as the winner of the recent legislative elections, to work together for the development of the country.
Speaking to the press during a visit to the premises of the French School, which is set to open in September, President Sissoco Embaló emphasized the importance of collaboration and synergy between his dynamic approach and the government’s actions.
President Sissoco Embaló had committed to French President Emmanuel Macron to establish a French school in Bissau during Macron’s official visit in July 2022.

The Guinean President expressed his hope that the new government would match his supersonic speed and work in harmony to advance the country’s development goals.
The PAI-Terra Ranka coalition secured an absolute majority in the legislative elections, occupying 54 out of 102 seats in parliament.
The coalition is led by Domingos Simões Pereira, a candidate who participated in the second round of the 2019 presidential election.
President Sissoco Embaló emphasized the need for stability in the country and highlighted his role as the primary facilitator of foreign funding.
He also welcomed the opening of the French school, which he believed would attract foreign diplomats on mission in Guinea-Bissau, and announced Spain’s plan to open a school in the capital city as well.
