Brazilian Minister of Justice was informed of the chances of invasion a day before and did nothing, says senator
Senator Marcos do Val (Podemos-ES) said on Monday (9) that the current Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, was informed the day before of the possible invasion of the headquarters of the Three Powers, but did nothing.
According to Do Val, the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) would have sent a document to the folder, through the Brazilian Intelligence System (Sisbin), warning about the “imminent risk of attacks on public buildings” on Saturday (7).
In a post on Twitter, the senator accused: “The Minister of Justice was informed of the attacks, the day before. As soon as it started, he went to the window of the Ministry, looked and did not take any action. I have already started to find evidence that the president Lula was also aware of what was going to happen and did nothing”.

Do Val filed a letter with the Ministry questioning the reasons that motivated the Lula da Silva administration not to act preventively against the protests.
“What actions did the Ministry of Justice and Public Security take on receiving, the day before the attack, the following alerts from Sisbin ‘summons for violent actions and attempted occupations of public buildings, mainly on the Esplanada dos Ministérios’ (…) ?” says the document.
And keeps going:
- “Which Ministry bodies were called upon to structure a more effective response?”;
- “What were the joint actions of this Ministry with the GSI?”;
- “What were the joint actions of this Ministry with the Ministry of Defense?”; and
- “What were the joint actions of this Ministry with the Secretariat of Public Security of the Federal District?”

The PT’s narrative that the blame for the attacks was the negligence of the governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), is going down the drain. This Monday (8), BSM published a report showing that the Presidency of the Republic could have called the Presidential Guard Battalion in advance, but did not.
