Brazil suspends restriction on travelers from African countries

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In a decree published this Friday (21), the federal government ended the restrictions on entry into Brazil for travelers from African countries. The measure meets the guidelines published by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) in early January.

As of this Friday, travelers with passages through South Africa, Botswana, Essuatini (former Swaziland), Lesotho, Namibia and Zimbabwe are once again allowed to enter Brazil, provided they follow the criteria for testing and presentation of a Covid-19 vaccination card.

The restrictions on the entry of people who have passed through the countries mentioned had been determined in December, to prevent the spread of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
