Economy Minister: Covid-19 is “entirely under control” in Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Despite uncertainties about the spread of the Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus worldwide, Economy Minister Paulo Guedes on Wednesday, December 8, said that the Covid-19 pandemic is fully under control in Brazil.

"Our mass vaccination has advanced and we have already protected 80% of Brazilians (adults) with two doses. According to the Ministry of Health, the disease is under control, fully under control. Brazilians are returning to work safely," he said during a virtual appearance at an Apex event in Miami. The recorded transcript of the event was released afterwards.
