Brazil’s B3: individual investors up 50.6% in January; average daily trading volume down 17.1%

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - B3 (B3SA3) on Thursday, February 10, released the Brazilian stock market's operating results for the month of January 2022.

The number of individual investors grew 50.6% compared to January 2021, totaling 4.235 million.

Despite the rise in the number of investors, the stock market's average daily volume last month reached R$30.652 (US$5.8) billion, representing a 17.1% drop compared to January 2021.

The turnover rate reached 163.4% in January this year, a drop of 4.3 percentage points over the same month in 2021.
