RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In preparation for the 110th anniversary of Rio de Janeiro’s Municipal Theater, celebrated on July 14th, the resident dancers will do a preview for the public on June 25th and 26th, with the “Ballet do Meio-Dia” midday show, designed to attract those who visit the theater during their lunch hour.

For the director of the Municipal Theater Corps de Ballet, the lunchtime performances are “splendid” in terms of audience.
“Because the environment of the theater is always buzzing. So being able to offer this to the public who enjoy being in the theater, who wants to experience and enjoy watching the corps de ballet in action, it is wonderful. We resume the midday ballet to provide the public, during their lunch break, exquisite leisure.”
The two recitals will be performed with recorded music and costumes from the collection, from previous productions, said the Municipal Theater’s press office.
The program includes excerpts from Talisman, The Corsair, Czardas, Swan Lake, and Don Quixote, among others.
Cecilia Kerche also advised that the program alluding to the 110 years of the Municipal Theater would begin on the very anniversary date, that is, on July 14th.
