UAE defense group EDGE cooperates with Brazilian navy to develop long-range anti-ship missiles

UAE state-owned EDGE Group announced a strategic partnership with the Brazilian Navy to co-invest in developing long-range anti-ship missiles, including providing advanced solutions like anti-jamming technology.

The collaboration was introduced during LAAD 2023, held in Rio de Janeiro last April.

A high-ranking delegation from the Brazilian Marine Corps visited EDGE’s manufacturing and testing facilities, witnessing live demonstrations of various cutting-edge solutions across different domains.

The four-day visit included demonstrations of products covering air, land, sea, and cyber realms, focusing on autonomous systems, anti-drone technologies, electronic warfare, cybersecurity, secure communications, missiles, warships, and armored vehicles.

The Marine Corps’ material commander, admiral Rogério Ramos Lage, led the delegation and included other key personnel.

EDGE’s CEO Mansour Mohamed AlMulla said the visit demonstrated the potential for collaboration in knowledge exchange, R&D cooperation, and joint development of advanced defense systems.

Ramos Lage expressed that the live demonstrations displayed numerous areas for future collaboration that will strengthen the Brazilian Navy’s and EDGE’s partnership.

A crucial part of EDGE’s growth strategy is forming mutually beneficial partnerships globally, including in Latin America, where EDGE established its first international office in Brasilia last April.
