The Turquoise Blue fraternization, which began as a soccer match between members of the engineering courses of the Academia Militar das Agulhas Negras (AMAN) and the Escola de Aperfeiçoamento de Oficiais (EsAO), has grown in importance over the years.

Nowadays, Operation Turquoise Blue takes place in parallel.

It demonstrates the capabilities of the Technical Weapon of the Brazilian Army, whose main mission is to support mobility, counter mobility, and protection, which is a multiplier of combat power.

At the 2022 edition, the first-year AMAN cadets presented all the material used by the Engineer Weapon, focusing on the first official appearance of two Guarani 6×6 armored engineer vehicles equipped with excavator buckets from Pearson Engineering.

These vehicles are currently undergoing rigorous testing and evaluation and will soon enhance the capabilities of several technical weapons units across the country.

Also on display were the divers and their specialized equipment. This Beaver armored bridge-laying vehicle launched a bridge and performed the crossing.

The Badger armored particular vehicle (both tracked) and the upgraded IRB modular bridge-laying system that works with the Tatra Force T-815-7 8×8 truck.

These modular bridges are essential to ensure the mobility of armored brigades by supporting the weight of battle tanks and artillery vehicles/parts, as well as trucks carrying infantry and their logistics.

During the presentation, a team of engineers assembled a modular crossing pontoon (gangway) in a matter of minutes, which was transported to the site and delivered by an Army Aviation HM-4 Jaguar helicopter as a hook load.

Upon completing the task, soldiers crossed the pontoon overcoming an obstacle in the terrain, illustrating the importance of the engineering arm.
