The student spokesman emphasized that, in the region, “the hope of a fully integrated and fair Latin America is reborn, we no longer want to be a colony of the United States”.

The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, led the reception of a massive mobilization with the participation of hundreds of Venezuelan students accompanying the international delegates on the occasion of today’s Student’s Day.

Maduro urged the organization’s young members of progressive principles to “continue joining efforts and forces in favor of the integration of Latin America and the Caribbean”.

He warned against the forces operating against integration and denounced that from US imperialism “they do not want us to be free, they do not want us to express our identity, our personality, they want us to be forever slaves of that colonial world, enough of empires!”, he exclaimed.

“We want to be free, and we are going to be free; we are counting on you to build future freedom,” he emphasized.
