Carnival: Rio confirms parades in the Sambadrome; is still assessing blocks

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Rio de Janeiro mayor Eduardo Paes and state governor Claudio Castro said Wednesday that samba school parades at the Sambadrome are confirmed for Carnival 2002 assuming the Covid-19 pandemic will not worsen, but said that the street blocks will still be assessed.

They say it is possible to hold parades in Sapucaí according to the rules and respect for health protocols, as occurred in soccer stadiums.
