Brazil: in 4 years, Bolsonaro’s government created 4 million jobs
Over the four years of President Jair Bolsonaro’s mandate, a little more than 4 million formal job openings were created in Brazil.
The data appears in a survey by Revista Oeste on information released by the federal government on Tuesday, 31.
When Bolsonaro took office in January 2019, Brazil had about 38 million formal jobs.
After four years marked by management of liberal direction, the mark was close to 43 million formal jobs.
Thus, on average, around 1 million jobs were created per year.

And this was even with the challenges generated due to the legacy left by the PT governments, the covid-19 pandemic, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
BOLSONARO FACED YEARS OF CRISIS
At the end of the Dilma Rousseff administration, Brazil was experiencing an economic downturn, contrary to the global growth wave.
The International Monetary Fund estimates that Brazil’s gross domestic product (GDP) shrank by almost 4% in 2016, while the world economy expanded by about 3%.
In addition, the country experienced consecutive corruption scandals, which led to the imprisonment of two former presidents.
In December 2019, in the twilight of Bolsonaro’s first year in the presidency, covid-19 emerged.
The disease spread worldwide over the next two years, causing a global health crisis.
To address the problem, unprecedented measures were taken on a global and local scale.
The free circulation of people and goods was restricted, which put the brakes on the planet’s economy, generating problems also in Brazil.
The Brazilian labor market, for example, fell to just under 37 million formal jobs.
The GDP suffered a new setback. In 2020, the local economy shrank by 4%.
In the year 2022, a new global crisis.
Vladimir Putin, Russia’s president, began his invasion of Ukraine.
The conflict aggravated investors’ apprehension and raised production costs, generating inflation throughout the planet.
RESUMPTION
Despite the challenges, the Bolsonaro government ended with numbers that confirmed the economy’s recovery.
In addition to job creation, Brazil ended 2022 with economic growth above that of countries like China, the United States, and Germany.
The country also concluded the year with inflation below the rise in the cost of living in the countries of the Euro Zone and the North American market.
