Brava Energia Shares Climb 10% Following Record February Production
Brazilian oil firm Brava Energia (BRAV3) saw its shares jump nearly 10% after announcing record February production figures, Reuters reported.
The company achieved 73,854 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), marking a 9.2% increase from January levels. Brava attributed this performance to strategic investments and operational improvements across its main production hubs.
Offshore results particularly impressed analysts, with production rising 17.9% month-over-month as the Atlanta field improved operational efficiency and Papa-Terra continued its production ramp-up.
Most of Brava’s fields outperformed previous months’ production levels, according to JPMorgan analysts. This positive momentum comes just months after the company began production through its FPSO Atlanta in December 2024.
The company currently operates two wells connected to the FPSO Atlanta and plans to connect four more wells by June 2025. Two additional wells will join the system within the next month, with two more following by quarter’s end.
FPSO Atlanta has substantial capacity, designed to produce up to 50,000 barrels daily, treat 140,000 barrels of water, and store 1.6 million barrels of crude. Atlanta currently produces around 26,000 barrels per day.
Navigating Growth Amid Market Challenges
Brava Energia resulted from last year’s merger between 3R Petroleum and Enauta. The company now holds a market capitalization of R$8.36 billion ($1.39 million) despite seeing its share price decline 23.43% year-to-date.
Carlos Mastrangelo, Brava’s head of offshore operations, expects to reach a final investment decision on drilling two more wells in Atlanta within weeks. The company targets production levels approaching 100,000 boepd by late 2025.
Brava resumed production from the Papa-Terra field following authorization from Brazil’s National Agency of Petroleum. During its shutdown, the company completed maintenance work to support future production expansion.
As Brazil’s first independent E&P company to develop a deepwater production system from its initial phase, Brava continues building its position in the competitive Brazilian energy sector.
