On Sunday, in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, a tourist bus overturned, resulting in two fatalities and injuries to over 40 passengers.
Federal Highway Police identified the victims as two women, ages 42 and 70.
They had set out from Santa Vitória do Palmar for Caxias do Sul to enjoy the Grape Festival, a celebration of Brazil’s cultural diversity.
Yet, their celebration ended prematurely on the BR-116 highway.
Authorities report that the bus driver swerved to avoid a motorcycle traveling the wrong way without lights.
