Paraguay registers record in beef exports in 2022
Paraguay once again registered a record in beef exports in 2022, with a total of 333,700 tonnes, surpassing the previous mark reached in 2021, according to the report of the National Quality Service and Animal Health (Senacsa) published this Monday.
According to it, shipments from January to December 2022 represent an increase of 2.09%, compared to the 326,698 tonnes exported throughout the previous year.
Regarding foreign currency income, beef exports left more than US$1.722 billion in 2022, an increase of 7.16% compared to the US$1.598 billion generated last season.

Similarly, exports of beef, offal and other products of animal origin reached the best figures in the last five years in 2022, generating revenues of more than US$2.197 billion for the livestock sector and its entire production chain.
According to official data from Senacsa, at the end of 2022, 608,975 tonnes were shipped, representing an increase of 1.43% compared to the 600,208 tonnes exported in 2021.
Regarding the main export destinations for Paraguayan beef, the second most important item for the country behind soybeans, Chile ranks first with 133,684 tonnes worth US$722 million.
In second place, Russia is positioned, with a total of 61,886 tonnes for a value of US$249 million, while in third place is Brazil with 39,357 tonnes for an amount of US$214 million.
