“Ouro Branco” Premieres in Rio’s Candido Mendes Theater

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Candido Mendes Theater will host the premiere of the play “Ouro Branco” by André Ladeia, from August 14th to September 12th.

The routine of four servants is disturbed by the impropriety of the Prosecutor General who, by extending their working hours, begins to harass them, instigating a true uprising within the work environment.

The more the employees’ rebel, the worse their working conditions become. All this is irrigated by reveries involving conspiracy theories in various periods of history, the Mayan calendar, astronomy, and other eccentricities.

A tragicomedy that challenges the values of justice and its relevance today. The cast is made up of Charles Paraventi, Eduardo Gentil, Hilton Castro, Ícaro Galvão, and Juliana Azevedo. Andre Gonçalves is the director, and Carolina Kezen is the producer.

“The play offers a great opportunity to make an unpublished text, by a brand new author, debut in the theater and to show a little of the Brazil we live in, from the past and the present, something so surreal, but at the same time, so real. May our trajectory be brilliant, may we take advantage of what bothers the Brazilian people so much: public service and our leaders,” says André Gonçalves, director of the show.
