LATAM’s Strategic Bet on Brazil Delivers Solid Growth
LATAM Airlines’ June 2025 report shows the company’s clear bet on Brazil is working. The airline carried almost 7 million passengers in June, up 7.3% from the year before.
Passenger traffic grew 10.2% compared to June 2024, while flight capacity increased 10.7%. Planes flew at 83.8% capacity, a steady result. Domestic flights in Brazil led the surge.
LATAM’s passenger numbers on these routes jumped 15.2%, with capacity up 13.9%. The airline added more than 1.3 million seats to the Brazilian market this year and opened new routes, including Aracaju to Congonhas and Fortaleza to Juazeiro do Norte.
By mid-2025, LATAM served 54 Brazilian destinations on 128 routes. Cargo operations also improved. LATAM’s cargo capacity rose 5.2% in June, and the cargo load factor reached 52.9%.
The airline now runs 15 weekly cargo flights between South America and Europe and holds a 23% share of that market. Pharmaceutical shipments from Europe to Brazil grew 40% in early 2025, and LATAM now partners with Amazon for faster deliveries in Brazil.
For the second quarter, LATAM carried over 20.5 million passengers, up 9.9% from last year. The airline’s cargo business also grew, with a 5.1% increase in available cargo space.
Brazil’s aviation market rebounded faster than others in Latin America after last year’s floods. LATAM’s investments in new routes and added seats allowed it to capture this recovery. The company’s strategy focused on Brazil’s real market needs, not global trends.
