Fishing vessel carrying 12 people capsizes off Brazil’s Santa Catarina’s coast

On Friday evening (16), the Brazilian Navy verified that a fishing vessel carrying 12 crew members capsized in the sea near Garopaba, a city situated on the southern coast of Santa Catarina.

Upon receiving the emergency call, the Port Authority initiated search operations at 9:30 PM. At this point, no updates regarding the crew members’ rescue have been provided.

As per NSC TV, the incident involving the fishing vessel took place near Coral Island, approximately a 45-minute boat ride from Garopaba and south of Florianópolis.
