Cuba relaxes entry restrictions for Brazilian tourists

By · April 6, 2022 · 2 min read

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – From April 6, Cuba will no longer require proof of vaccination or RT-PCR testing for tourists visiting the country. Sampling tests will still be performed at arrival.

The Cuban government said the new measures were taken considering the epidemiological situation in the country. In Cuba, 87% of the population has completed the vaccination schedule, and 55% have taken the booster dose.

Previously, unvaccinated travelers could not enter the country and were required to present a negative PCR test. Unvaccinated travelers would also need to be quarantined in a hotel in Cuba.

Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Mexico also have little or no entry restrictions, including for those who have not had the vaccine.

Unvaccinated people cannot enter Brazil, and a negative test for covid-19 is required.
