Brazilian dog breeder goes into despair at Turkish airport after losing 4 dogs
The reason?
He couldn’t hear from his four dogs, who were supposed to be traveling in the cargo compartment of the flight.
A resident of Criciúma, in Santa Catarina state, João Paulo, was traveling from the Philippines – where pets of the breed Papillon participated in a canine beauty contest – to Switzerland, where he would spend a few days with friends.
During the stopover in Istanbul, however, the airline canceled his flight.

The dog breeder then asked for information about the animals, which was not given, according to a clarification published in a video on his Instagram after the incident.
Faced with the airline’s denial, João Paulo became desperate.
In videos shared on TikTok, it is possible to hear him screaming and repeatedly questioning the airport employees:
“Where are my dogs? My children! There are four puppies! You are crazy; where are my dogs? Please show me where they are; I paid for everything.”
Internet users showed indignation at what happened to the Brazilian, questioning how dogs could simply disappear.
Others called for changes in the rules of pet transportation by the IATA (International Air Transport Association).
“It was a very sad situation what happened to us,” he lamented on Instagram.
“When they canceled our flight at the boarding gate, I lost information about our dogs, and they started running away and not explaining what had happened. For that reason, I really went into despair and was overcome by a supernatural force,” he recalled.
Eventually, João Paulo reunited with his fur ‘children’.
“Thank God everything was resolved; the police arrived, and we had a chance to see the dogs.”
Eventually, the family was able to travel together. “We arrived well in Switzerland; everyone is very happy here,” he celebrated on Tuesday (24).
According to the Daily Mail newspaper, videos of the incident have already amassed more than 6 million views.
“The moment I saw the dogs, I calmed down. The dogs are my loves; I didn’t have the chance to have human children. They participate in dog shows with me, and we have a very happy life together. I would do anything to protect them; they are my life, my world,” he told the British media.
The breeder also thanked the public for their support during the incident.
“Thank God we are safe. Thank you for all the love and all support, with all my heart.
