RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On Friday, August 28th, Uber announced a new trip option in São Paulo city. Now, passengers from the capital of São Paulo will be able to take a cheaper trip through Uber Promo, a new option in the App. The service is intended to help the capital’s mobility in times of low demand for trips.
The cheaper trips will be offered at alternative times, with lower flow and demand for cars on the streets. According to the company, Uber Promo will feature on the App according to the flow of cars on São Paulo’s streets – there will be no set time for the offer.
When the option emerges, trips can be ordered on the Uber App, on the trips screen. The company has also announced that the option complies with all security and hygiene protocols against Covid-19, such as the obligatory wearing of face protection for both drivers and users.
“By encouraging people to travel in less busy times, we want to help the population that needs to leave home to seek alternative times and thus avoid crowds. In addition, they save on travel costs”, said Uber operations manager Silvia Penna in a statement released on Friday.
