Covid-19: Omicron threatens Argentine borders with Paraguay, Brazil and Chile

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The new Omicron variant of the coronavirus is complicating the reopening of Argentine borders with Paraguay, Brazil and Chile. Particularly the latter, where cases have increased.

The first Omicron case detected on Sunday, December 5, is forcing a reassessment of the border protocol by the Argentine Ministry of Health.

The Ministry reported that the patient infected by the new variant has been in isolation since his arrival, as well as 4 close contacts, and that none of them has symptoms.
