The State Electoral Tribunal decided Thursday (8) to reject the candidacy of Wilson Witzel, former governor and candidate for governor of Rio, in the 2022 elections.
Witzel can still appeal the decision to the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE).
A 7 to 0 unanimously rejected Witzel's candidacy for the Brazilian Women's Party (PMB).
The candidacy of Helena Witzel, from the same acronym, was also rejected by the TRE-RJ.
In August, the State Election Commissioner filed a petition to challenge Witzel's candidacy.
In action to challenge the registration of the candidacy, PRE-RJ invokes that Witzel was sentenced . . .
