Colombia: industry and commerce remain buoyant in January, but business confidence falls

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Industry and retail trade in Colombia accelerated their pace of growth during January, amid robust domestic consumption in the Andean country, the National Statistics Department (DANE) revealed on Tuesday, although business confidence declined.

Industrial production increased by 15.1% in January, compared to a contraction of 1.6% in the same month last year.

The rebound exceeded that of December when it was 13.1%.
